Home MuralFest #2

As these unusual times continue, we’re happy to announce a second round of the Home MuralFest with another beautiful lineup of artists from around the globe!

Throughout May 2020, 35 artists are coming together / apart to simultaneously create interventions from their respective places of current isolation. Whether on their living room or studio wall, in the bathtub or on the kitchen floor, this project aims to explore and utilise the limits that have restricted these artists from their seasonal outdoor escapades. Stay tuned on here where we’ll be sharing daily updates on participating artists!

Home MuralFest

Over 50 international artists are coming together/apart, during this lockdown-based mural festival.

Working from their prospective places of isolation they will be creating a live intervention in the month of April. Whether on their living room or studio wall, in the bathtub or across the kitchen floor, this project aims to explore and utilise the limits that have restricted artists from their seasonal outdoor escapades.
The work that is normally produced in public spaces becomes significant in the privacy and intimacy of our own homes, having the people we live with and/or ourselves as the viewers. With the opportunity to share this intimacy with the world through the window of our screens, technology serves as an honest tool for togetherness.
Stay tuned for more...

Pawel Ryzko Presents 'Poland'

Void Projects is proud to present Poland from Artist Pawel Ryzko, a body of work produced between 2014-2018 addressing different social and political problems in Poland. The style is based on the aesthetics of Polish commercial design from the communist era. The form is in a stark contrast to the content, with the seemingly colorful, pleasant images giving rise to difficult or even traumatic issues.

About the Artist

Paweł Ryżko (b. 1984) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In the past, he has collaborated with the Twożywo Group. In 2010, he authored the cover of Frank Zappa’s “Hammersmith Odeon” record released on the 70th anniversary of his birth. In 2012, he received the Młoda Polska (Young Poland) award of the Minister of Culture. His artistic output includes posters, typography, murals, and stencils, stylistically rooted in the constructivist tradition. His works have been displayed in many exhibitions and awarded in competitions.

Homeless

Homeless is a site-specific project space that will take place in Axel Void’s house in Miami, Florida, United States. The aim is to create quality shows outside of the conventional art scene, cutting the middlemen, galleries or institutions. Favoring the direct dialogue from the artist to the public.

For this second edition of Homeless, Void Projects proposes a show and residency formed by local, national and international, classical painters. As well as live music, gastronomy and installations.

The works will be presented with in a quotidian home environment. It is a old house built in the 1920's situated in North Miami just outside of the wall that divides Miami Shores, a upper class neighborhood from a working class area of unincorporated Miami-Dade.

The concept of this collective show is to talk about the idea of a home from a political, social or personal viewpoint. Addressing this idea based on cultural heritage, identity and patriotism.

This years edition focuses on classical painting, which serves as bridge to talk about tradition and its purpose or influence in society.

In a young country like the United States that is composed by different cultures and nationalities who have set base here, and in light of the current political situation. This project is pertinent to a brooder sense of commonality as well as a more introspective view of shelter and community.

Void Projects is also proud to collaborate this year with Juxtapoz for their annual Clubhouse event. Artists reflect on their experiences of time spent in Miami through a series of original works and on site installations.
